Tower F Restaurant, specialising in modern English cuisine, has been created by owners Rose and Roger in the stunning setting of an original Martello tower in Clacton-on-Sea. Built in 1810, it is the only surviving tower with its original drawbridge and possibly the only one still with its moat. There is also a coastguard station on the roof, built in 1968, but now disused.
This unique building, previously derelict for 20 years, was chosen by Rose and Roger as the home for their modern cuisine restaurant and they have tastefully and authentically restored the tower to its former glory, creating the ambience of a modern restaurant and retaining the character of the Napoleonic period. From the beautiful Indian Rosewood furniture and fittings to the spiral staircase and superbly - appointed cloakroom facilities, this Clacton-on-Sea modern cuisine restaurant stands out from the crowd, literally and figuratively! Rose and Roger will be delighted to give you a guided tour provided they are not rushed off their feet. Seating 50 people over Tower F's two floors, the Clacton-on-sea restaurant's team of first-class chefs provide a varied modern cuisine menu. All food is freshly cooked from produce bought in daily and you can savour the glorious aromas wafting up from the kitchen as your meal is prepared - it is well worth the wait! A quality European and New World wine list is offered with house wines originally chosen by a group of customers. Tower F is a bar as well as a modern cuisine restaurant and on fine days, what could be nicer than to enjoy a drink in the Moat area or on the Roof Terrace, taking in the magnificent view of Clacton-on-Sea and the ocean? So successful has this modern cuisine restauarant been in creating a relaxed and romantic atmosphere that no less than 5 marriage proposals have been made here since Tower F opened!
If you are thinking of arranging a corporate event, wedding, party etc, the Tower F modern cuisine restaurant venue can be exclusively hired, or the Magazine Room can be made available for your occasion.
